I've begun re-linking the below profiles to the wiki. As much as I loved some of our prettier on-site profiles (few and far between as they were), it's time to say goodbye.

Here you can find out which characters are taken as well as look at character profiles to learn a little about the cast. Expect this section of the site to be continually updated as new official and original profiles are completed and added.

If you see an asterisk and a number (such as (*6) for instance), you can simply scroll to the bottom of the page and find the matching number to see the corresponding footnote. Note that characters are sorted by (approximate) order of timeline introduction, with some exceptions (deceased characters, special-condition characters, etc.)

This is not intended to be a source of accurate info regarding the series, but instead information for this specific RP storyline. Things started out as close to the Sonic Team canon as possible, but over time, due to the nature of role-playing (and our choice to reject new Sonic Team developments), information about official characters has changed as they themselves have developed and grown older. I reiterate, this information is not guaranteed nor intended to be official!

(*1) Mach, Sharps, Max, and Honey are mostly-unheard-of prototype characters. Mach, Sharps, and Max were from the original Sonic The Hedgehog's beta version. Legend has it that their sprites were to be included in the game's sound test screen, along with Sonic, as part of the Sonic The Hedgehog Band--Just a clever little addition to accompany music playback. One interesting note is that Vector was also included as part of the band well before he ever made his debut in Chaotix. As for Honey, she was a character buried deep in the code of the original Sonic The Fighters arcade game (as part of a loose reference to a similarly-named Fighting Vipers character), who was for some reason excluded from the game's character selection despite being fully completed. Anyway, if you want to play any of these guys, you're welcome to. Almost absolutely nothing is known about them, so playing any of them would be nearly equivalent to playing an original character (excluding Mach, who has appeared in our story before, and therefore has a vague framework for his personality).

(*2) Mecha Sonic (known to some as Silver Sonic, not to be confused with Metal Sonic) has undergone many changes of appearance, and unfortunately has had a lot of mystery surrounding its name, since Silver Sonic is only an American fan name / Archie Comics-adopted name, and the Japanese name of "Mecha Sonic" was used in such a way that it really only implies "mechanical Sonic," not a unique, proper name. Here, we call it either--It doesn't matter. Anyway, the original Mecha Sonic was featured in Sonic The Hedgehog 2, and another version of the same robot with a completely different exterior was seen in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles as the boss of the Sky Sanctuary. What looks to be the same robot with yet another change of face was later seen in Sonic Adventure, which was its last appearance known to date, and is the one featured here. (Note that the moniker "Silver Sonic" is used interchangeably here.)

(*3) Great Battle Cuckoo XV and XVI were defeated by Tails back on Coco Island, along with their two-bit scientist, Dr. Fukurokov (or Fucrokov, or Fukurokofu, or however you choose to romanize it). They're gone now, and no one really cares. They're probably dead or something. Maybe they're running a father-and-son Qwik-E-Mart. Do you want to play any of them? If so, you're probably a freak. Ah well. Go ahead and ask.

(*4) Tikal died approximately 3000 years ago when she was locked away in the Master Emerald with Chaos. She did come back later, but only in spectral form. She fulfilled her purpose and moved on, and for that reason, she is not considered a playable character, despite all of you people who think she should come back and have ghost-babies with Knuckles. (Note that this in no way endorses batchidna babies.)

(*5) Chief Pachacamac and his men died at the hands of Chaos after attacking the altar of the Chaos Emeralds approximately 3000 years ago. It goes without saying that he is not a playable character in this group.

(*6) The first five units of the E-100 series were destroyed through the course of the Sonic Adventure story arc by E-102 Gamma (excluding E-100 Alpha "ZERO", which was destroyed by Amy Rose). They no longer exist, although other members of the E-100 series could be created as original characters if anyone would like. Note that "Chaos Gamma" is not playable in this group since we don't count Sonic Battle as part of our story.

(*7) As it is treated in this group, Shadow committed suicide at the end of the SA2 story arc. We have chosen this view because of Sonic X season 2 (the last season currently considered a part of the story in this group), which seems to reaffirm and finalize his death with imagery of a wispy ghost of Shadow on ARK toward the end of the second season. We feel that this is a more honorable end to the character, as opposed to Sonic Team's newly decided belief that he should be used as a full-fledged marketing pimp, playing on the feelings of the Shadow-humping mid-teen masses everywhere. Anyway, even if he did survive, going by the history we've chosen, the original Shadow would unfortunately still be in Chris' dimension (as in, the human dimension, as seen in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2) and thus wouldn't be around for this RP. The Shadow androids (as seen in Sonic Heroes) might be playable later on, however, depending on how we handle the Sonic Heroes situation, and whether or not we ever do an adaptation. No, the new Shadow The Hedgehog game is not likely to ever have any bearing on our story whatsoever. Don't even ask.

(*8) The Gizoid "Emerl" exploded with a titanic blast in Sonic X. Nothing likely remains, but perhaps a future storyline could reveal another Gizoid, if it exists. If you're really interested in this, feel free to IM Matt. For now, though, we'd probably rather just fill the role of the reconstructed Gemerl instead.

(*9) E-123 Omega and Chocola The Chao are currently unavailable because we've yet to do an adaptation of Sonic Heroes, and we're not going to accept it as part of our story as-is. The game is one of the reasons this group now exists as the Sonic "Classic Continuity"--We specifically don't like its story, and don't want it polluting the classic story. We'll get around to doing our own version of its story before too long.

(*10) Blaze The Cat and Eggman Nega were featured in Sonic Rush for Nintendo DS, which is not considered part of our story. It's not consequential enough to bother including, especially since Blaze went back to her dimension in the end, anyway, so we've chosen to just save some trouble and ignore it. Yeah... we can survive without the oh-so-venerable Eggman Nega homie-g word-up-mah-nega in da hood imitation Eggman robbing the original Dr. Eggman of his uniqueness.

(*11) Jet The Hawk, Wave The Swallow, and Storm The Albatross are new characters featured in Sonic Riders. We haven't considered it a part of our story, though we will probably do an adaptation sometime in the (potentially near) future, probably immediately following our Sonic Heroes adaptation. That said, these characters will probably become available.

(*12) Silver The Hedgehog, Princess Elise, and Mephiles will never end up as part of our story, given our stance on not counting any more new Sonic Team works, as well as the fact that two of them are yet more freaking hedgehogs. Since Sonic Team can't come up with anything better than ye olde average fan character, these days, I think we'd just rather not bother. Still, you never know... but you can be pretty sure.
